HP launches the HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition VR system as the company intends to use sensors to measure reactions to experiences and develop them.

HP outlined its Omnicept plans at its AR/VR Global Summit. While the VR market is still in its early stage, companies are using virtual reality for training. HP stated that its Omnicept is developed to help enterprises and developers develop human-centered virtual reality experiences.

HP’s Omnicept revolves around utilizing data to define things like a cognitive load.

Below is the breakdown of the Omnicept stack:

  • The headset arrests data from the buyer and tracks eye movement, heart rate, facial expressions, and pupillometry through sensors and four cameras.
  • The Omnicept software uses ML (machine learning) for real-time analytics on cognitive load.
  • Virtual reality experiences are developed to adapt based on training requirements.
