Foxconn has mentioned that it will be finishing the development of the microLED AR smart glasses by 2022.

According to DigiTimes, Foxconn plans to trial the microLED augmented reality smart glasses across factories, medical care, and retail environments by around 2022.

It is after Foxconn invested in the startup eLux in 2017 to expedite the development process of microLED technology. Foxconn has struck a 3-year deal with vendors for the licensed use of microLED technology.

The AR features of the microLED smart glasses have increased complexity as compared to other standard smart glasses.

Also, Apple has progressed its anticipated miniLED stable production pace, with the 12.9″ iPad Pro set. Per Apple commentator, Ming Chi-Kuo, Apple is placed to deploy miniLED in its products much earlier than it was expected before.
