Facebook, in September, announced that it has partnered with Luxottica, the manufacturer of Ray-Ban. Both the companies mentioned releasing the first part of these smart glasses in the year 2021. During the virtual Facebook Connect conference, Mark Zuckerberg hinted that the partnership would help support various preferences and styles that buyers may have.
“After spending time with their team and visiting their factory, I knew that they were the right partner for us to help bring the best technology together with the best glasses.” – Mark Zuckerberg.
Facebook stated that the smart glasses would not be listed as an AR device and would not have an integrated display.
