Facebook and Cyan Worlds, the developer of ‘Myst,’ recently announced that the game would be available for fans in virtual reality. Myst will be re-developed for Quest towards the end of the year and will be launching after the Quest 2 headset launch.
The VR version of Myst was defined as a “reimagining” of the 1993 classic that was developed with the HyperCard software of Apple. Myst to feature new interactions, art, and audio. Myst’s trailer gives an idea into what Myst is, but it does not show the virtual reality remake or Myst’s gameplay.
Cyan Worlds has previously launched a virtual reality called Obduction, considered the spiritual successor to Myst. Obduction was launched in 2016, the game had a few exciting design and smart puzzles, but it was launched at a time when the developer was still trying to understand how to make a non-virtual reality game to work in a VR environment.
Cyan Worlds has mentioned that Myst has been developed entirely from the ground up for Quest.
