The leading remote connectivity and workplace digitalization solutions provider, TeamViewer, has signed a strategic partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software to help Siemens’ Teamcenter® software leverage the capabilities of its enterprise AR and Mixed Reality platform Frontline.
Teamcenter® is a pioneering Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution and a part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. The partnership between the two entities will enable Siemens’ global customers to enhance their product development process through immersive experiences facilitated by interactive, 3D content connected to the digital twin of a product.
Users can easily modify these 3D models, allowing more teams across the product lifecycle to participate in the development and drive high-quality product decisions and innovation.
“We are very excited to collaborate with Siemens in the PLM space and to help their customers to increase their productivity, efficiency, and process quality,” said Oliver Steil, CEO of TeamViewer.
The partnership highlights TeamViewer’s leading position in developing and delivering state-of-the-art technologies, such as AR and MR. The company also established a robust enterprise business spread all over the world.
Siemens Digital Industries Software aims to broaden the adoption of the executable digital twin through rich, immersive experiences. Collaborating with TeamViewer will provide the company and its community of designers, engineers, and managers with another way to engage with product data using mixed reality tech.
The Spatial module within TeamViewer’s enterprise AR platform Frontline allows employees using mixed reality smart glasses, such as the Microsoft HoloLens, to carry out tasks more effectively. They get access to digital information, three-dimensional elements, and multimedia content while working in the augmented or mixed reality environment. For instance, virtual holograms provide thorough visual process guidance to the employee to help achieve a better outcome.
Siemens’ Teamcenter® combined with the TeamViewer Frontline Spatial module will enable organizations to achieve increased productivity, efficiency, and process quality to get a better return on their CAD and PLM investments. The solution is expected to be released later this year.
