The expansion of the WISeID Metaverse was discussed at the Davos 2023 Event on January 18, 2023, by WISeKey International Holding Ltd, a leading global cybersecurity, blockchain, and IoT platform company.
The WISeID Metaverse aims to create a dependable, secure, and multifunctional open-source engine that anyone can use to develop interoperable identities and cryptocurrency wallets with their permission.
By collaborating on open-source code, WISeKey works with OISTE.ORG and several blockchains to establish the best digital identity and crypto wallet technology practices. This work can be a starting point for anyone wishing to create an interoperable, secure, and privacy-protecting ID metaverse.
Carlos Moreira, the founder and CEO of WISeKey, spoke at the event about how digital identities augmented avatars will allow us to navigate the Metaverse using WISeID technology by handing off the company’s presence on the Metaverse to verified versions of ourselves created through machine learning that would guide and perform various tasks on our behalf.
Robust authentication methods grant access to the web and mobile applications using WISeID first generation, which serves as a reliable identity service. Online KYC onboarding, OTP and digital certificate login, as well as a novel ‘hands-free’ secure login based on QR-Codes that users can read with the help of the WISeID suite of mobile applications without even needing to type any passwords, are all supported by WISeID.
WISeID is a cutting-edge approach to protecting people’s identities that can safeguard individual and online business interactions. WISeID gives users a digital identity that can be used to secure email communication and digitally sign documents with legal standing and is enhanced by features like single sign-on and two-factor authentication.
A built-in identification module is part of the WISeID second-generation Digital Identities in Metaverse protocol, and the company will create supplemental applications. Users can build reputations on the Metaverse through digital identities, enhancing value exchange. Digital transactions, requests for verification, and signatures are used to exchange value. As a result of these exchanges, a user can gradually establish a reputation that other digital identities and value intermediaries can check and validate.
