The Lagos-based furniture company, Taeillo, is integrating virtual reality and augmented reality features within its innovative furniture shopping experience in Nigeria.

The company plans to set up a digital showroom to enable its customers to experience artistic and functional pieces of furniture using their smartphones.

Solomon Akinsanya, Taeillo’s Head of Marketing, stated that the company aims to cater to the transforming customer needs emerging due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the AR feature on our website, you can sit in the comfort of your home, check out a piece of furniture and immerse it into your desired space to get an idea of how it matches your aesthetics. The VR headset on the other end gives you an immersive virtual showroom experience,” said Akinsanya.

The pandemic has prompted brands across the globe to invest in digital alternatives that help enhance the user experience, improve brand positioning, and boost their revenues.

The use of technologies, such as mixed reality, has specifically helped Taeillo interact with customers beyond geographical boundaries. The company further plans to invest in properties within the metaverse, expecting it to be the future of eCommerce.
