Flipkart acquires AR company Scapic

On Tuesday, Flipkart said that it had acquired Scapic, an augmented reality company, to improve its immersive shopping experience. Scapic is a Cloud-based platform enabling the development and publication of augmented reality and 3D content. The company serves customers across marketing and e-commerce.

According to the company statement – “Through the acquisition of Scapic, the Flipkart Group will acquire a 100 percent stake in the company and welcomes onboard a talented team of experienced developers and designers.”

 Since the pandemic started, Flipkart has been concentrating on enhancing customer experiences. The acquisition will help accelerate Flipkart’s efforts to provide immersive camera experiences, new opportunities for brand advertising, and virtual storefronts.
