The legendary Kenny Scharf is featured in the most recent print edition from ADLAR Studio, a publisher of fine art prints with augmented reality that can be seen through its exclusive app. The print edition is currently available for sale. The new print, titled Blobosistic, was created in close collaboration with Scharf by ADLAR Studio using the best printmaking techniques combined with an unmatched augmented reality (AR) animation that brings the artist’s recognizable characters to life in 3D on a user’s mobile device.
To create this work of art in augmented reality, Scharf used top-tier special effects, animators, engineers, and technologists, many of whom have decades of experience working in Silicon Valley and Hollywood.
The ADLAR Studio app, now freely available for iPhone users in the Apple Store, makes it simple to experience Blobosistic on the wall as a fine art print and advanced digital asset.
Blobosistic, which was released in a limited edition of 100 signed prints, features Scharf in full-on classic mode. Here, Blobosistic, the main red character, welcomes us with a contagious and slightly sly grin. Blobosistic, soaring through space, isn’t solitary or chilly. He is huddled up with some of his closest friends, who are giggling, grinning, licking, and staying warm.
We glimpse Blobosistic life in the AR, including their laughing, giggling, burping, and even some gas. Additionally, the AR allows Blobosistic’s friends to spill out from their frames as finely modeled 3D figures, rubbing up against one another while their tongues, noses, and cheeks unfurl, nuzzle, and laugh all at the same time.
Blobosistic’s debut follows the launch of ADLAR Studio in late 2022, which featured prints by Analia Saban and Shane Guffogg.
Adam F. Gross and Larry W. Jones co-founded ADLAR Studio, which combines the most advanced augmented reality (AR) activations with the finest limited-edition prints. ADLAR Studio brings together talented and provocative artists, master printers, and top-tier, award-winning special effects experts and engineers to create the highest quality prints and bring them to life via augmented reality.
