Noise Games’ Eternal Starlight is set to launch next week for PC VR headsets and Oculus Quest.

Eternal Starlight puts players in command of a fleet of starships in the middle of a battle against an alien race named – Kraya. From a third-person perspective, players have to dispose and position a range of craft, each with their own specialties.

The game has twenty-eight missions and a skirmish mode where players can access all ships and missions. In all, there are six unlockable starting load-outs for two different flagships.

The team started developing Eternal Starlight in 2016, and since then, the team has designed it as a satisfying experience for players, allowing them to scale the play environment however they want to. For e.g. from a wide view to up close and in the center of the battle. For players using Oculus Quest, Eternal Starlight also has complete hand tracking assistance.

“I took inspiration for Eternal Starlight from games like FTL, Mass Effect, and Homeworld. Adapting RTS to VR was challenging, but we’ve created a novel experience for space strategy fans. We came up with a locomotion system that allows you to move around comfortably while being a core part of the gameplay.” – David Wallin, Indie developer of White Noise Games.

Eternal Starlight will launch on 17th June 2021 for Oculus Quest and Rift, Valve Index, Windows MR headsets, and HTC Vive. Oculus Quest owners can pre-order Eternal Starlight for £14.99.
