The official trailer for Project Drone Galaxy, the eagerly awaited drone racing game powered by Algorand, the top high-performance blockchain platform, has been released by The Drone Racing League (Metaverse game), the world’s premier drone racing property.

Project Drone Galaxy from DRL and Playground Labs is a multiplayer drone racing metaverse experience that will debut later this year.

“Project Drone Galaxy’s high-intensity esports-focused gameplay sets a new standard for web3 gaming and demonstrates what it means to responsibly integrate blockchain technologies in a way that puts users in the driver’s seat,” said Sam Peurifoy, CEO at Playground Labs.

Players will construct their drones for the game, compete for online collectibles and other rewards, and fly to victory as avatars while racing in a high-stakes arena with obstacles, boosts, and extremely competitive pilots.

“The Drone Racing League is made for Web3. Our fans are avid enthusiasts of drones and blockchain. As we prepare to launch Project Drone Galaxy powered by Algorand this year, we’re excited to unveil a teaser video showcasing our first metaverse game to come,” said Anne Marie Gianutsos, CMO at DRL.

The launch of Project Drone Galaxy coincides with the start of the 2022-2023 DRL Algorand World Championship Season, in which the best drone pilots in the world compete to fly the fastest drones through breathtaking courses in real life, esports, and the metaverse, as seen on NBC and leading social media platforms. The season’s finale, “Miami 3-0-FLY,” will take place on Saturday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. EST at loanDepot park, the Miami Marlins’ stadium in Major League Baseball. Miami, Florida is the Web3 capital of America. Tickets are available for purchase.

The 12 best drone pilots in the world will compete in a race through the Biosphere map of DRL SIM, the realistic drone racing simulator available on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games, as part of the DRL’s virtual portion of the season. DRL will broadcast the race live on TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Twitch.
