The Valentine Museum is all set to offer augmented reality tours soon to allow visitors to learn about the stories of Richmond.
The museum is collaborating with ARtGlass to provide its visitors with high-tech glasses that would enable them to experience storytelling with 3D visuals and audio on River City’s historic Monument Avenue.
The content is created with a focus on the origins, symbolism, and fate of Confederate monuments.
“After viewing and listening to archival sources, guests will dialogue about why Monument Avenue was created, who built it, and how it has changed physically and culturally…,” stated a description of the event on the museum’s website.
The augmented reality tours will begin on July 24 and are suitable to experience for viewers from ages 12 and up. The tickets are priced at $20 for adults, while the children under 18 can attend the tours for free.
