Unity, provider of a platform for building and operating real-time 3D content, has announced that they have acquired VisualLive.
VisualLive allows the engineering, construction, and architecture industry to decrease costs and improve efficiency by visualizing and collaborating in AR. VisualLive’s tech complements Unity Reflect, the immersive development and collaboration platform connecting project stages, people, and data across the digital building lifecycle. Unity will look to expand its strategic growth in engineering, construction, and architecture through this acquisition.
“Unity’s real-time 3D platform transforms every stage of the AEC lifecycle. With Unity Reflect, AEC professionals can unlock building information modeling (BIM) data through immersive real-time experiences. Adding VisualLive to our portfolio better allows us to connect the field with the design office, bringing BIM data via augmented and mixed reality to drive better quality assurance and project tracking. This will fundamentally change how design reviews, construction planning, field inspections, and facilities management are conducted.” – Julien Faure, GM of Verticals, Unity.
The current method of job site walkthroughs for facilities management and construction is filled with human errors. VisualLive assures users can immediately inspect and validate designs to avert costly errors. VisualLive works with firms from architecture to sustainable energy.
Top AEC companies use Unity to streamline real-world engineering, construction, and architecture workflows. Since its partnership with Autodesk in 2018, Unity as a company has expanded to support a set of Autodesk products while also allowing Autodesk users to get real-time 3D content on a range of augmented and virtual reality devices to bridge the gap between blueprint and construction. Unity Reflect connects all stakeholders involved in the project, irrespective of platform, geo-location, or model size, to build real-time collaborative environments.
