Ooredoo Partners with Snap to Develop AR Experiences for Its Customers

The multinational telecommunications company, Ooredoo Group, is partnering with Snap Inc. to incorporate augmented reality technologies for enhancing customer experience.

The two companies have signed a three-year partnership to build advanced, 5G-enabled AR experiences for Ooredoo customers across its ten operating companies.

Ooredoo Group will leverage Snap’s platforms such as Snapchat and its creator tools to act on its commitment to technology, innovation, and the digital elevation of arts and culture and augment the quality of the customer experience that the company delivers.

Several of these experiences will be built by focusing on key cultural and social moments, including the significant sporting event in Qatar in 2022. The companies will combine the physical and digital worlds through engaging, shareable AR experiences for fans and visitors.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Thani, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Ooredoo Qatar, said, “This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration for the region, a milestone of which we are rightly proud, and which aligns perfectly with our strategic aim of digital transformation.
