The leading bitcoin rewards and payments app, Fold, has joined forces with Niantic to create the first-ever augmented reality bitcoin earning feature in the metaverse. Fold AR is currently in its beta phase, available to users within the Fold App. The feature enables the users to earn bitcoin and in-app benefits by exploring their physical surroundings.

“This is the easiest, most fun way to get your first piece of bitcoin,” said Fold CEO Will Reeves. “Anyone can use our app to earn bitcoin and other rewards by exploring the world around them. For us, it’s always been important to make participating in the bitcoin economy easy for anyone, regardless of education or technical expertise.”

Niantic’s state-of-the-art augmented reality platform tech will now allow Fold users to discover and collect bitcoin and other prizes around them.

Fold AR was initially released to a limited number of users on November 23rd. Nevertheless, the feature is expected to make its way to more users every day. Fold Visa Debit Cardholders particularly will get access to special rewards and powers to increase their bitcoin cashback within the AR experience.
