At the Vancouver Christmas Market this year, ePlay Digital will feature augmented reality Instagram filters created by the company through a novel partnership. Tickets are now available for the Market. Users can activate the augmented reality experience by using a mobile device to scan QR codes on the on-site sign boards.
Users will immerse themselves in the metaverse and experience classic Christmas tales in cutting-edge 3D. They can also record videos and photos to share with friends.
“We are thrilled to augment the experience of The Vancouver Christmas Market this year with some high-tech magic,” said Patrick Carnegie, Director for Patron Services at Vancouver Christmas Market. “Working with ePlay Digital and Instagram to bring holiday-themed 3D augmented reality to our guests is exciting.”
Numerous German towns hold Christkindlmarkts in December in keeping with a long-standing custom. Locals use the occasion to socialize, sample regional cuisine, shop for presents, and spread holiday cheer. The Vancouver Christmas Market brings this joyous Old World custom to Vancouver annually.
Real-Time 3D (RT3D) and augmented reality (AR) entertainment and sports metaverse experiences are provided by ePlay Digital’s Klocked World Platform for this year’s Vancouver Christmas Market.
“We are thrilled to work with such a high-profile local event,” said Trevor Doeksen, CEO of ePlay Digital. “The vision for the augmented reality experience is all thanks to Vancouver Christmas Market, and I’m thrilled we could execute.”
