The India-based AI and augmented reality startup, Avataar, launched its single-click integration solution to help online retailers deliver a 3D augmented reality shopping experience at AWE USA 2022. The merchants can directly integrate the out-of-the-box product with the two major eCommerce platforms, Shopify and BigCommerce.

The innovative solution leverages Avataar’s computer vision and AI-powered 3D content creation platform, Supernova, to enable merchants to create 3D product catalogs quickly and at scale. The patented technology works by scanning a merchant’s existing product catalog and providing a photorealistic, life-size 3D upgrade within a few hours. The platform also offers end-to-end workflow management to help maintain the quality during the creation process.

Avataar’s platform enables shoppers to complete a purchase by directly adding it to their cart from within the 3D experience instead of redirecting to a listing or product page. The integration also enables Avataar to evaluate how the customers interact with the 3D products, which is then shared in the form of specific insights with the merchants to better understand consumer preferences and adapt to them.

“Avataar’s out-of-the-box AR solution signifies the continuous growth of AR innovation in the e-commerce industry,” said Sravanth Aluru, Chief Executive Officer at Avataar.

The company is offering the self-serve solution through a freemium model to ensure that its customers are satisfied before making a paid commitment. The merchants will have to pay a particular commission on their sales, but only if they see a proven traction and sales uplift by deploying the platform. Avataar states that some retailers have already seen a 3.5x increase in sales conversions and a 60% rise in product-to-cart visits with an average engagement time of four minutes through the platform.

The company had recently closed a USD $45 million Series B funding round led by Tiger Global earlier this year. It is also working with leading global retail and eCommerce brands based in the US, Europe, and Asia.
