Going the extra mile to charm tourists down to their island, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is launching five custom Augmented Reality (AR) filters themed in distinctive Saint Lucian flavor on Instagram.
Becoming the first Caribbean Tourism Authority to do anything of this kind, their aim is to let the tourists experience the Saint Lucian culture and live the adventures that the island has to offer, all virtually. It’s their bid to make travel fun and safe through an interactive virtual environment during the pandemic.
To add these exciting filters to your pictures, you need to head over to @travelsaintlucia on Instagram, go on to the effects tab with the smile icon, and tap on ‘Try It’. The introductory five filters include the effects from the Sulphur Springs mud mask, a cultural madras hat, Carnival inspired headpiece, an underwater snorkel, and a Saint Lucia flag-colored flower crown.
Add the filters to a photo, video, or boomerang captured using either of your phone cameras, then add a few stickers, drawings, or text and you’re ready to show-off your Saint Lucian experience as you like.
The SLTA is going to bestow one lucky winner with a 5-night all-inclusive stay at Bay Gardens Resorts through a contest curated to promote Saint Lucia and the new filters. The Caribbean National Residents and folks from the USA, Canada, and the UK can participate in the contest from now until January 23, 2021. The lucky one will be randomly chosen and announced on January 24, 2021.
To enter the contest, follow @TravelSaintLucia and @BayGardensResorts on Instagram and post using any of the five AR filters on your Instagram feed or story and tag @TravelSaintLucia.
The island is currently open to visitors and has the necessary COVID-19 protocols in place to ensure safety for all.
