The BC-based augmented reality solutions company, Nextech AR, has joined the Ericsson Startup 5G network. It is an exclusive partnership that aims to connect startups to upcoming opportunities for 5G tech.
Ericsson Startup 5G is a global program that works with innovative technology companies to build on the successful commercialization and monetization of 5G. The program aims to help its members expand their businesses by assisting them in connecting with partners across the globe, giving them access to significant technology events, and facilitating sharing of technical and strategic expertise.
The program currently features several startups with diverse products ranging from next-generation sports experiences, 5G devices with new form factors, and augmented reality books.
Nextech AR, specifically, aims to use its proprietary AiR Show human hologram creator application and its AR Ad network to depict the potential of 5G.
Moreover, the company, along with the network of fellow innovators, will also get access to Ericsson’s consumer insights platform, 5G experts and testbeds, and exposure in events run in conjunction with Ericsson.
In April, Nextech AR had closed a $14 million bought deal public offering led by Research Capital Corporation and launched an AI division led by Mirjana Prpa back in December.
