XRHealth, a provider of therapeutic health applications and extended reality, has announced that the platform will now be used to treat substance abuse issues and mental health conditions using virtual reality.
XRHealth is a virtual clinic, and it uses a VR headset to provide remote therapy to patients in the comfort of their house.
The XRHealth clinic can assist patients in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, pain management, memory training, ADHD treatment, post-COVID rehab, anxiety treatment, and more.
“During COVID-19, we have seen a spike in the use of narcotics and an overwhelming need to address anxiety and stress. There are many platforms to treat patient mental health conditions, but we believe that the 3D medium is more powerful than a 2D interface and can reach more patients effectively.” – Eran Orr, Chief Executive, XRHealth.
XRHealth has included additional substance abuse and mental health and treatment to address the overdose issue to its platform. In addition, the immersive creation of VR can make patients feel like they are there, even from the living room.
The XRHealth is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act laws and collects real-time data of the patient to provide monitoring for progress tracking.
XRHealth launched the first virtual reality telehealth clinic in 2020 for neurological therapy across the U.S. Then, they started offering virtual reality services in Israel to COVID-19 quarantined patients.
