The Italian sports car brand, Abarth, introduced a VR ‘test drive’ pack that will be the first in the world to enable potential customers to experience the feel of their car from the comfort of their living room.
The trial for the platform will begin on February 8th at the Vospers Abarth retailer in Exeter. Once successfully tested, it will be rolled out to retailers all across the UK.
For the trial, a representative from the retailer will deliver an Abarth crate at the front door of the participating customer. The crate will contain a VR headset pre-loaded with the ‘test drive’ footage along with a pair of Bose headphones to ensure optimum audio quality for the customer to experience the famous growl of the Abarth exhaust. A few branded items such as a Bluetooth speaker and baseball cap in addition to a brochure providing all the necessary information about the vehicle will be included in the crate.
The experience will give the opportunity to the customer to ‘virtually’ get behind the wheel of the new limited edition Abarth 595 Scorpioneoro right at their home.
The experience will take the customer to the sweeping bends of the Great Orme, the lakeside vista of Llyn Ogwen, and off-road adventures on Black Rock Sands. These locations have been chosen by the Abarthisti, Abarth’s online community of owners.

Only 2,000 models of the Abarth 595 Scorpioneoro will be made available globally. It is a tribute to the exclusive A112 Abarth ‘Gold Ring’, better known as the A112 Abarth ‘Targa Oro’.
