Engage Creative Technologies is taking augmented reality to the next level by introducing AR for ships.

Engage Creative Technologies for the last four years has been building an AR system to allow the ship crew members to see through blinding rain, darkness, snow, and fog to locate navigational hazards like land, other ships, and icebergs.

The company has named the prototype BridgeVUE, which is a first-of-its-kind for the marine companies. The AR system includes data collection from traditional radar and transforming it into augmented images in real-time. The AR product is currently not at the commercial-stage yet.

“We started the company with next to nothing. I was paying my staff with my tip money because we weren’t bringing in enough money. But we stayed in the game, and now we’re a thriving marketing company. – Aaron Dawe, President, Engage Creative Technologies.

Later Dawe got in touch with Rutter Technologies and the company’s CEO, Fraser Edison, which kick-started his imagination and laid the foundation of Engage Creative, focusing on augmented reality.
