To launch the app’s first augmented reality (AR) rewards, Unitea, the engage-to-earn social media platform that promotes genuine connections between musical artists and their fans, has teamed up with ten electronic music artists.
By encouraging users to “create, connect, and collect,” Unitea aims to promote genuine connections in a world where content is constantly created but starts to lose its connection between creators and fans. Users can produce brief videos with music by their favorite artists, earn digital tokens, and then exchange those tokens for experiences and rewards catered to artists that are verified by blockchain technology.
Users who accumulate enough digital tokens can choose from Unitea’s exclusive selection of AR-enabled rewards. Examples of 3D animations up for grabs under Unitea’s new program include DJ Diesel’s roaring gorilla head, Said The Sky’s rotating cloud, and Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird egg logo hatching.
The “Vibes” short-form video feature of the app, which is similar to Instagram’s Reels in that it enables creators to make videos using an extensive library of artist-approved music, is how users can collect each augmented reality reward.
They then receive “Karma” tokens that are unique to each artist, which can be exchanged for special benefits like meet-and-greets, concert tickets, and merchandise, among others. By synchronizing their Spotify or Apple Music accounts and listening to their preferred artists, users can also accrue “Karma” points.
ILLENIUM, John Summit, SOFI TUKKER, STS9, Martin Garrix, TOKiMONSTA, Oliver Tree, and Mersiv were a few of the artists who previously provided fans with in-person interactions.
“Our vision is to build a more equitable social media model where everyone wins,” said Ketan Rahangdale, co-founder at Unitea. “Artists build real relationships with their fans, which supercharge music streams and content creation in exchange for authenticated rewards of tangible value.”
