The Hong Kong-based virtual event management startup, EventX, has raised a series B funding round of US$10 million, led by HTC and the China-based private equity fund Gaocheng Capital.

The company plans to invest the funds to develop its virtual event solutions, venture into new domains, and explore more marketing and event opportunities. Owing to the pandemic, the company has experienced an 800% year-on-year growth in its user base.

EventX, founded back in 2014, is primarily an Asia-focused provider of digital event management solutions for enterprises. It enables companies to deploy features such as interactive exhibition halls, online registration forms, and webinars during their virtual events.

The new partnership with HTC will aid the startup in rolling out its virtual event lite platform for other startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.

“It is certain that virtual workspaces and virtual events will become the new norm. The creation of this alliance will result in a deep level of integration between our own expertise and HTC Vive’s groundbreaking work in the VR space,” said Sum Wong, EventX co-founder, and CEO.

EventX has had an exciting portfolio of clients on board, including Alibaba, PricewaterhouseCoopers, GL Events, Informa, Reed Exhibitions, and Yahoo.
