The company specializing in live augmented reality and virtual production solutions, Pixotope Technologies, has acquired TrackMen Gmbh, a German company focusing on real-time 3D camera and talent tracking solutions for the media industry.

The acquisition is a significant milestone for the media industry as it amalgamates a complete virtual production platform comprising graphics, camera tracking, and talent tracking within a single product. The offering will make it easier for artists to match the virtual camera to the real camera in virtual production scenarios, a feature crucial for creating hyper-realistic visuals.

One of the substantial barriers to the adoption of virtual production is camera tracking. TrackMen’s robust tracking and Pixotope’s end-to-end VP solution will make virtual production more accessible. The two entities can leverage the technical expertise of TrackMen and the usability of Pixotope’s solutions.

TrackMen has emerged as a market leader by being the only one offering a range of real-time 3D camera and talent tracking solutions covering all types of production based on a single software platform. Pixotope customers worldwide can now integrate these unique tracking solutions into their workflow.

This would allow the TrackMen team to continue developing and supporting their existing portfolio of products while building the new Pixotope tracking solutions.
