NexTech AR, a provider of augmented reality for AR learning applications, eCommerce, virtual events, and AR-enhanced video conferencing, has recently stated that Ryerson University based in Toronto has signed a deal with NexTech to use its AR solution for the University’ss 2020 Graduation. The fall graduation will be held on November 17, 2020 and with NexTech’s AR solution, the event will be completely virtual by use of augmented reality.

In this deal, NexTech will develop a 360-degree augmented reality portal of the Ryerson’s Student Learning Centre. Visitors can walk into the portal via an augmented reality doorway, where they can navigate the menu to view the names of graduates which will be viewable in 360 degrees.

Guests can browse through each faculty to learn more about the gold medalists, compliment graduates with messages on virtual walls, highlights of the year, and take graduation pictures in a photo booth using NexTech’s ARitize app.

“This is going to be a simply amazing graduation event. We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Ryerson to create an exciting virtual graduation ceremony where multiple AR technologies can come together and create something totally new and immersive, maybe better than the real thing.” – Evan Gappelberg, CEO of NexTech
