Snapchat’s mix of AR filters, stickers, and lenses is mostly used to mark major events, like Pride Month, and Snap is now getting into real reality items.
Snap has partnered with Pride Basics to allow Snapchat users to order personalized Pride flags for $15. From each sale, $2 will go to InterPride to support global equity efforts. Snapchat users can have that flag printed and delivered directly to their homes.
“To reflect how pronouns and physical expressions have become more expansive and fluid, Snapchat created new versions of Pride flags with blended gradients, giving the LGBTQIA+ community a way to embrace the spectrum of identity and an individual’s place within it. The optical elements of the lenses underscore that diversity, with non-linear gradients and color spectrums meant to emphasize the nuance and richness of the LGBTQIA+ experience.” – Snap wrote in a blog post.
