Scandit, a technology platform provider for augmented reality and mobile computer vision solutions, published that it is entering Japan. In Japan, the enterprise is named Scandit GK and is scheduled to be established entirely by the end of November 2020. Scandit is focusing its local marketing, sales, and partnerships with Japanese retail, manufacturing, transport, and logistics companies.

Scandit is a different computer vision and ML platform which combines barcode scanning, object recognition, text recognition (OCR), and augmented reality for camera-equipped smart tools including smartphones, wearables, robots, drones, etc.

“Our early results in Japan prove that there are tremendous opportunities for our scanning solutions here. Once companies see how they can replace dedicated scanners with smart devices that blend the physical and digital world and display real-time insights with AR-overlays, they start to accelerate their digital transformation, rapidly.” – Masahiro Sekine, Scandit GK’s Senior Sales Director.
