La Liga, the Spanish soccer league has partnered with Microsoft to transform the experience for fans digitally.
Under the partnership, Microsoft will work with La Liga to create new and leverage existing solutions that drive innovation across the league.
Areas of the partnership will include giving data-enhanced match coverage and OTT streaming options such as camera angle selection. The league will also provide new experiences such as 3D replays, AR, and VR.
For broadcasters, commercial partners, and rights holders, Microsoft’s technology will enable an enhanced over-the-top streaming platform that will offer personalized recommendations.
La Liga will work with Microsoft to streamline stadium operations through new tech in security and utilize 5G for in-stadium experiences.
Moreover, La Liga will utilize cloud computing service Microsoft Azure’s machine learning software and AI for its Mediacoach platforms and LaLigaSportsTV.
The offering will cover matchday stats, analytics, OTT streaming services, among other. Per La Liga, the project will improve fan experience by building new technology solutions by Microsoft, at the same time offer customised technology platform, solutions and services to third parties.
