Audi using AR to plan complicated logistics processes. Using virtual presentation of 3D holograms presented in their life size form helps planners better assess future situations. Audi uses Microsoft’s “HoloLens 2” for their planning and execution process.

LayAR (layout and augmented reality) helps Audi logistics administrators when placing up new logistics structures in the current production hall. LayAR uses existing CAD data for different objects, like containers, parts, and shelves. LayAR visualizes the objects as a 3D hologram in the augmented reality device and projects it in life size.

“In order to visualize structures and relative sizes up to now, we have been using in‑house prototypes of containers, shelves, and lines elaborately affixed to the floor.” – Tobias Brigl, Project Manager
