According to Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper Apple has partnered with Sony to develop its AR headsets. Per the newspaper, the AR headset could be advertised as early as 2021.

It seems Sony has got an order for a microdisplay which uses an organic EL panel. This display is rumored to be small and lightweight, with a high image resolution and a digital camera viewfinder. Augmented and virtual reality fit HMDs for new apps use optical technology to propel pictures illustrated on display onto the lens in front of the person using the headset.

While the Apple Glasses is a lightweight and elegant pair of smart glasses focusing on utilizing AR in everyday life, it uses augmented reality to place data like maps navigations. These smart glasses are expected to launch in 2023.
