The interactive live performance platform that allows artists to connect with fans through AR experiences, Encore, announced the launch of the Encore Studio App. The news also comes with a USD $9 million investment from Battery Ventures and other investors, including 468 Capital, Parade Ventures, Nomad Ventures, Moving Capital, Kayak Ventures, and Gaingels.

The platform provides music artists with tools and technology to express their story, unveil new music, and interact with their fans. They can create and perform live in custom AR environments using their smartphones.

Jonathan Gray, CEO of Encore, said, “Our live AR technology empowers any artist to create personalized content and host experiences for their fans without a production budget or crew and make real cash with 100’s of engaged fans.”

Countless artists, including SSGKobe, The Cool Kids, Too $hort, and DC the Don, used the platform to host virtual shows for tens of thousands of fans during the platform’s private beta.

The Los Angeles-based company is led by a team of artists, creatives, and technology entrepreneurs aiming to democratize the music industry. It was co-founded by the award-winning artist Kid Cudi, Hollywood producer, screenwriter, and director Ian Edelman, and technology entrepreneur Jonathan Gray.

“My number one priority has always been inspiring others and providing them the space to tell their own stories in an authentic and meaningful way. We created Encore as a space for artists to share their art, build community, while also being able to pay their rent,” said Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi.
