VirZOOM, a provider of VR fitness solutions, has announced its newest fitness application, VZfit for Oculus Quest 1 and 2. VZfit app extends workouts to users looking to experience gym from their home.

VZfit enables users to be carried to anywhere they want to go. The app uses Google Maps Street View, which allows users to work out whilst exploring Google’s Street View. Per VirZOOM, the patented motion control technology of VZfit uses Google Maps Street View and uses the available depth data to map the pictures onto a 3D environment around a user.

VZfit also has professional coaches who provide customized feedback and exercise routines. Users have the option to select trainers, save rides, tailor exercises, etc.

“We wanted to combine the limitless possibilities of the world around us with the limitless possibilities of VR. Our experiences have always been an exhilarating mix of the real world and the fantastical, but this is the most accessible VR fitness app that uses global exploration as a key motivator, making it so fresh and engaging that exercise almost becomes the side product. Especially in a time when none of us can travel in reality, it already has our community completely hooked.” – Eric Janszen, CEO, and Co-founder, at VirZOOM.

The VZfit app is developed for mid-level fitness groups who are looking for regular, half an hour exercise sessions. Besides, the company stated that based on around 3,000 Quest users to date, average users are in the age group of 30 to 40 age groups.

“After the success of VZplay and Explorer, we wanted to reduce the friction of needing special cardio hardware so we could expand our reach to anyone wanting to stay fit and healthy. We also wanted to expand beyond pure gameplay to tap into those travel aspirations and the endless options available to us in the real world. Our users are challenging themselves to travel through Japan or cycle across Ireland. Taking that trip, you’ve always wanted builds strong staying power. All you need is a [USD] $299 Oculus Quest 2 and a sense of adventure.” – Eric Malafeew, CTO and Co-founder, VirZOOM.

VZfit is a subscription-based app and available on the Oculus Quest Store.
