The entertainment resort complex, Walt Disney World, is introducing an exciting virtual reality experience to enable its guests visiting Disney Springs to dive deeper into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The experience, titled Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, will run until July 21 at Disney Springs, allowing guests to immerse themselves within the world of the epic space-opera multimedia franchise. The experience is housed at the former NBA experience building, which has been shut since 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new experience is powered by Meta Quest and ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm’s award-winning immersive entertainment studio. The guests will put on the virtual reality headset to enter the adventure that takes place right on the outskirts of the Black Spire Outpost, the Star Wars planet of Batuu.
“In this preview, you’ll get to step into Seezelslak’s cantina, where you encounter Mubo and Seezelslak himself. There you can test your skills with Repulsor Darts and play the chromarimba. For those looking for more adventure, head to the wilds of Batuu, beyond Black Spire Outpost, where you face off against the Guavian Death Gang,” as described by Meta on the company’s website.
The organizers will also run several giveaways with the experience, and participants can also purchase a Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset onsite.
The guests engaging with the experience on May 4 will also receive an exclusive poster inspired by the Guavian Death Gang cell operating in Batuu featuring their merciless leader, Tara Rashin.
The complimentary experience will run daily from noon till 10 PM at night. The guests must connect with a cast member to reserve a time for themselves at the location. Also, it is open to attend for individuals 13 years old and above.
