Recently Niantic has partnered with Nintendo to create many mobile games. Niantic, which developed Pokemon Go, has already revealed its projections for a Pikmin-themed game. The company has now launched the game in Singapore. People in Singapore can participate in the early tests for the Pikmin augmented reality game which is yet to be named. Gamers worldwide can pre-register for Pikmin, but only players based in Singapore will get to try it out first.
The finer details of the game are not known yet. Some reports show that users help plants to grow by walking with their phones. Niantic did not reveal when the game would be launched in other countries, but fans are hopeful of an early release. However, Niantic’s earlier games Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Pokemon Go, launched early in New Zealand and Australia.
Niantic is now looking to expand its influence with a series of Nintendo-based games. Niantic’s partnership with Nintendo ensures to offer more AR-based games. For now, gamers have the Pikmin game to enjoy, but only if they are in Singapore. Niantic, for now, has not announced any official global release dates.
