The New iPhone Launch Event Invite Packs an Exciting AR Twist

Along with the declaration of the highly anticipated ‘iPhone 13’ event, Apple incorporated an augmented reality twist within the announcement.

When you open the September 14 event page on an iPhone, you can see the same video shared by the company representatives on Twitter, showcasing a glowing Apple logo hovering over an alpine lake. But as you tap on that logo, something interesting happens.

It leads you to the ARKit viewer within iOS using your iPhone’s camera. After some quick calibration checks, you can see the AR Apple logo on top of your surroundings. But, it doesn’t end here as zooming into the logo takes you to the lake image from the invite, inside of which you can see the date of the iPhone 2021 launch event.

This could probably hint towards some big AR launches along with the new iPhone. It is not a hidden fact that Apple is betting big on AR under Tim Cook’s leadership. The iPad already packs a bunch of AR features, and a dedicated headset is also in the works.
