The sports, fitness, and health-focused metaverse, Calo Metaverse, has unveiled its second project, Calo Indoor, the first application in the world to deploy a Burn-to-Earn (B2E) reward mechanism. The new app also incorporates GameFi components similar to Web3 with Augmented Reality technology.

The Move-to-Earn (M2E) trend that dominated Web3 in early 2022 has now evolved into Burn-to-Earn. B2E promotes users’ participation in indoor exercise in the same way that M2E does for outdoor physical activity.

Through the augmented reality games included in the app for smartphones and tablets, Calo Indoor aims to encourage users to work out at home. Each type of exercise requires a virtual NFT sneaker, which players must equip before they can begin practicing. Exercising can earn players valuable benefits like IFIT tokens, Calo tokens, or other in-game items they can exchange for real money.

The Calo Indoor app capitalizes on the rising demand for equipment-free at-home workouts. The home fitness market has rapidly grown as more people work from home and commute less frequently. The app is especially helpful for city dwellers, for whom indoor exercise is more convenient and preferable to outdoor options like running.

The CaloVerse ecosystem has just released Calo Indoor after Calo Run. Its main goal is to create a system of indoor exercise routines that can be improved by augmented reality. These two fit into the trend of fitness apps with incentives.
