AR is taking the U.S. Open app next level in the year 2020. Today, the USGA announced the launch of the enhanced U.S. Open AR application designed by Deloitte to offer golf fans an innovative and engaging experience for the 120th U.S. Open Championship, which will be played from 14-20 September 2020.

The App is very user friendly. Once downloaded, it will ask to point the phone’s camera to a flat service, and the entire course appears. Users can view each hole in detail, search for a specific player, and follow groups playing through.

“We continue to elevate the human experience with digital reality that heightens fan enjoyment and allows more people to connect to the game from anywhere, any time.” – Allan Cook, managing director at Deloitte. The augmented reality experience has been created to complement the official U.S. Open App. Users can download to access stats, real-time scores, live-streaming video, highlights, and player tracking.
