The Canadian company developing mixed and augmented reality task support software, Kognitiv Spark, has set up a base in the UK at the Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire. It believes that the science and innovation park location will help progress its expansion into the European market.

The New Brunswick, Canada-headquartered company develops mixed and augmented reality solutions for industrial applications through its RemoteSpark software. RemoteSpark brings remote workers and experts together to conduct complex troubleshooting and task support assignments.

The company was founded in 2016 by a cybersecurity specialist and now CTO Ryan Groom with Duncan McSporran, the COO and VP of Aerospace and Defense and a former military officer for the British Army.

Yan Simard, CEO for Kognitiv Spark, said, “The decision to expand to the UK was a strategic and natural next step in Kognitiv Spark’s growth trajectory. With such a long and rich background in the industrial sector, it is clear that the market in the UK is ready for this type of technology.”

“We feel confident that now is the right time for us to expand our operations, and to support this, we are very pleased to make new hires both in Canada and in the UK,” he added.

James Nettleton, VP of UK & Europe for Kognitiv Spark, said, “This is the right location for us to continue our exciting growth plans while Oxford is renowned as a thriving tech scene with proximity to Oxford University.”
