Scienjoy Holding, one of China’s leading providers of live entertainment mobile streaming platforms in China, has recently announced that the company has developed a strategic partnership with BUPT (Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications) to research multi-user AR tech and its applications for live streaming entertainment and content.
As part of the deal, Scienjoy Holding will buy patents for AR tech and systems for multi-user interactions from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Scienjoy intends to use these patents in multi-player live streams and multi-player games to improve the interactive experience of users in Scienjoy’s VR environment. Through this strategic partnership with BUPT, Scienjoy plans to further promote development and innovation in the live streaming segment and to examine research synergies among higher education institutions and private enterprises on AR technology. This deal represents a further deepening of the collaboration between BUPT and Scienjoy, which was announced in the month of January 2021 for WEB AR (web-based augmented reality).
For Scienjoy, multi-user immersive and interactive augmented reality technologies are part of Scienjoy’s strategy for long investment in improving the user experience of games and live streaming with AR and VR. Scienjoy is continuously working on researching and integrating AI, AR and VR into its social platforms to enhance user experience. The company has already used single-user augmented reality technologies to allow users and hosts to supplement their appearance or environment.
