The leading American technology firm, Hewlett-Packard (HP), has developed a novel Software-as-a-Service product in collaboration with the VR/AR device management firm ArborXR. The new service will enable businesses to deploy and manage their VR solutions at scale seamlessly.

The company made the announcement at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 in Barcelona. The SaaS offering will allow companies to configure and manage VR device fleets on HP’s ExtendXR management platform.

The partnership will further enable companies to scale their XR device deployments with maximum security and ease of use through HP’s Horizon cloud infrastructure.

The company believes that enterprise, commercial and training applications for VR are on a ‘tipping point.’ With customers increasingly facing difficulties while setting up “hundreds to thousands of VR [all-in-one] devices,” there was an imminent need for such a deployment solution.

Moreover, additional issues with updating software, operating systems, and device firmware required “a complete end-to-end way of managing VR” across medium to large enterprises.

Brad Scoggin, Chief Executive for ArborXR, stated, “We are excited to power HP’s new XR platform. By working together, ArborXR and HP trailblaze the enterprise AR/VR industry and make it easy for companies to scale XR deployments.”

He added that his company was elated to support the HP ExtendXR partnership with HTC and Pico Interactive, which had provided their standalone VR devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR Platforms.
