The innovative nonprofit health system, UCHealth, collaborates with Denver-based marketing agency, August Allen, to help develop AR-powered entertaining and meaningful content for visitors and patients at their facilities.

The Colorado-based healthcare system aims to use augmented reality to provide a seamless user experience that combines the virtual and real worlds.

UCHealth is a cutting-edge, nonprofit health system offering the best possible patient care and the most remarkable caliber of medical treatment. UCHealth has approximately 28,000 employees, 12 acute-care, full-service hospitals, and hundreds of doctors in Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska.

The organization is committed to providing patients in the Rocky Mountain West the best care available, with the University of Colorado Hospital on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus serving as its academic cornerstone and the only adult academic medical facility in the area. With more than 150 clinic locations, it pushes the limits of medicine by offering cutting-edge therapies and clinical trials and enhancing health via innovation.

Patients and guests at UCHealth facilities will have access to various experiences through the UCHealth app that is intended to amuse, inform, and calm them.

“As we develop our AR program, our goal is to bring immersive and meaningful content to the communities we serve,” said Nicole Caputo, UCHealth’s Senior Director of Experience and Innovation.

The Denver-based marketing firm August Allen will take the lead on the creative approach and work with UCHealth to create AR experiences. The agency is renowned for specializing in unique AR solutions and digital marketing services that enable its clients to run successful immersive campaigns.

“Augmented Reality has grown into its own and has become a critical tool for brands to capture consumer attention and grow a relationship with their customers,” said Justin Hayes, August Allen’s Creative Director.

The first experiences are expected to be unveiled in October of this year.
