Music Victoria and Victorian Music Development Office have partnered with Inverse, a virtual reality streaming platform, to create a new creator’s fund for virtual reality music performances.
Inverse is an Australian virtual reality company that allows organizers, performing artists, and venues to organize events. The Inverse VR platform was launched during the COVID-19 situation.
The Music VR Backers Fund will help selected Victorian artists to play from Inverse’s virtual reality venue in Melbourne. It will also offer the capability to virtually connect with the audience and create a new income stream.
Applications for the Music VR Backers Fund will begin mid-January, and each expression of interest will be judged by a panel of industry experts. Artists selected will go on to perform an individual performance that can be viewed by a global audience in virtual reality.
