The leading provider of augmented reality products and services for brands, Blippar, is enabling the integration of Simultaneous Location and Mapping (SLAM) into its no-code AR platform, Blippbuilder. The move is aimed at helping its users create applications for the metaverse with much more ease.

Blippbuilder is a no-code, drag and drop platform enabling creators to develop immersive AR experiences without any prior technical knowledge in the field. The SLAM technology allows for AR objects placed in experiences to stay firmly in place using surface detection.

The platform features numerous tutorials and best practice guides to train users for AR creation using a step-by-step approach. The experiences are accessible using a browser called WebAR, which eliminates the need for dedicated apps or hardware. WebAR experiences are supported by various platforms, including Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, WeChat, WhatsApp, and conventional web and mobile browsers.

The company had recently introduced its WebAR SDK, which is a SLAM-enabled AR toolkit for developers. It helps creators with HTML and Javascript experience to build bespoke, professional-grade AR experiences.

Blippar will showcase Blippbuilder’s new SLAM integration at AWE in Santa Clara, USA, on the 10th of November.
