Atlas Acquires Augmented Reality Developer – Extend3D

Atlas Copco has acquired Extend3D GmbH, a developer and distributor of Augmented Reality worker guidance. It usually provides AR worker guidance to industry customers that use laser and video projection. Extend3D is based in Munich, Germany, and boasts 16 dedicated employees. In its previous operations, the company successfully generated around €3m in 2022 alone. In addition, Extend3D provides support to the automotive industry, logistics, aerospace, and other industries utilizing augmented reality systems.

According to Henrik Elmin, Business Area President of Atlas Copco’s Industrial Technique business area, This acquisition will enhance the company’s offer in process and quality control. The newly acquired provider, Immersive technology guidance, will become a subsidiary of the Motor Vehicle Division within the Industrial Technique business area. Nonetheless, Atlas Copco has engaged in previous acquisitions in recent weeks and Months. In June 2023, the company acquired a leading provider in the Energy Industry-National Pump & Energy. National Pump and Energy is involved in dewatering, environmental services, and water treatment solutions. Before this purchase, the company had also acquired Maziak Compressor Services, based in the UK, as well as James E. Waterson and Co., which is based in the United States.
