Tech giant Google has officially ended support for the AR-powered measurement tool, Measure. The application was built using the company’s ARCore platform and helped measure objects in your environment using augmented reality.

However, no official announcement was made by Google. Instead, the update was spotted by Android Police in a changelog for the app that stated:

“Final version. No further updates will be published. This app is no longer supported and will not be updated. Users who previously installed this app can continue to use it on compatible devices.”

Even though the statement in itself is pretty straightforward, 9to5Google reached out to Google for comment. A company representative was quoted saying the following.

“We’re no longer able to support ongoing maintenance for the Measure app. Instead, we recommend trying one of the many alternatives available on the Play Store.”

Nevertheless, as the changelog mentions, you can continue using the application if you have it downloaded on your Android device. However, you must not expect any updates in the foreseeable future.
