The creator of the WorldViewAR augmented reality platform, RealityBLU, unveiled its 3D Object Builder, enabling content creators to build powerful interactive experiences with 3D objects for use in retail, eCommerce, and direct mail applications.

The 3D Object Builder aims to capitalize on opportunities arising with the change in shopping behavior and greater adoption of augmented reality tech. As per Insider Intelligence, 13% of shoppers have engaged with AR shopping features, and the statistic goes up to 25% for the 18-35-year-old age group. Additionally, 39% of shoppers have not used AR but are interested in exploring the technology while shopping.

The 3D Object Builder can facilitate the creation of several kinds of experiences, such as interactive product demos, character fan engagements, product configurations, view-in-room experiences, and more.

The platform uses 8th Wall WebAR technology, eliminating the need to download an external app to run the experiences. This would enable shoppers to seamlessly engage with AR experiences in person or online through their smartphones.

WorldViewAR Object Builder uses absolute scale, allowing users to view the objects in full size and pinch and zoom to scale them to their desired size. Upon resizing the object, the 3D Object experience will showcase the percentage of the image’s true size.

Companies, brands, and retailers can also add buttons to the WorldViewAR 3D Object experiences to promptly encourage shoppers to respond to the calls to action.

“Use of AR for shopping is growing and, because of the ease of use of the WorldViewAR platform, our 3D Object Builder lowers the barrier to entry for creating these experiences,” said MJ Anderson, Chief Experience Officer at RealityBLU. “This is a great example of how marketers and brand owners can monetize AR and use it to drive sales.”
