The Southgate VR arcade opened in November is a new VR arcade to create various situations for customers to play.

“We’ve had steady business, especially on the weekends. We get big weekend crowds.” – Stephen Wright, Owner.

Southgate VR is a 2,500 square-foot space and has four game stations and currently spaced apart based on COVID-19 rules. Southgate VR follows COVID-19 rules strictly and has hand sanitizers at each station, and each station is wiped between customers.

“I know how people feel, and we’re extra careful. Southgate VR is the only arcade of its kind in Douglas County; the nearest virtual reality gaming center is in Eugene.” –  Stephen Wright.

There are a variety of games to select from, such as Drunken Bar Fight, Arizona Sunshine, Epic Rollercoaster, among others. Apart from being just simple fun, the VR simulations also involve movement and exercise for customers.

“There’s not a lot for kids to do here. That’s why I opened it here because it’s something for them to do and it’s cheap. Also, I want to get the kids out doing something active, actually moving around. They come here and sweat like crazy. They love it.” – Wright.

Southgate VR arcade is open from 12 PM to 8 PM (Tuesday to Thursday) and 12 PM to midnight on Fridays and 10 AM to midnight on Saturdays, while it is closed on Monday.
