With the acquisition of Downpour Interactive, the creator of the virtual reality shooter Onward, Facebook has now closed its fourth virtual reality development studio acquisition. Onward has arisen to become one of the most popular virtual reality titles on the Facebook Oculus Quest platform ever since its launch.

The Oculus blog noted that Dante Buckley, Founder, and CEO of Downpour Interactive, has been a source of inspiration within the VR industry for several years due to Onward’s remarkable success, a multi-platform multiplayer MilSim. Onward is Dante and Downpour Interactive’s first game and a multiplayer masterpiece packed with challenges, tactics, and teamwork.
