The Austin, Texas-based outdoor brand known for its coolers and drinkware, Yeti, is offering augmented reality and 3D visualizations of its products online.

The brand has partnered with 3D and augmented reality (AR) solution provider Vertebrae to bring more than 50 virtual products in their own physical environments to their customers. The technology enables the customers to engage with the products from every angle to get a visual sense of dimensions and evaluate item construction, material durability, and organization.

The company has incorporated the 3D and AR visualizations for its signature hard coolers on the product pages, along with their newly launched premium bag collection that features an expanded selection of backpacks, duffels, and soft luggage available for purchase exclusively on its e-commerce site.

The shoppers can access the visualizations directly from the product detail page without the need to download any app. Using the experience, they would be able to place life-sized products anywhere in their surroundings.

They can zoom in to engage with the products and check out the technology, features, and materials close up. For instance, a bag can be placed on a table or in the trunk to gauge dimensions and specs. A customer would also be able to examine the fabric closely and evaluate features like access points and stash pockets to choose the right products fit for their everyday or outdoor use.

“At Yeti, we take pride in developing durable, high-quality, and top-performing products, but these attributes can be difficult to experience in the online setting,” stated Matt King, CTO, Yeti. “AR brings our technology and features to life offering shoppers the opportunity to interact and evaluate Yeti products digitally in their own environments, building confidence and providing a strong reason to believe.”
